My Locking Session

Okay, I am finally taking a break from studying; I finally have time to work on my blog :). December 29th, 2005 was the day of my locking session. I think my sisterlock consultant, Paulette, got started around 9 in the morning. We did not taking many breaks; just to use the restroom and to eat lunch and dinner. Time went by really fast, we talked about everything, lol...

As you can see, my hair is.....THICK!! I had about 7 inches of hair. Luckily, I did not wash my hair before I went, because my hair would have been hard to comb through.

Day Before My Locking Session.....

This was the day before my locking session (December 28, 2005). I was not feeling well but I was determined that my hair would be locked the next day :). I was about to wash my hair but decided to call my locticitan, Paulette first. She immediately told me not to wash my hair because it might be hard to comb through. She had a point, because I always had a hard time in combing my natural hair after I washed it.

Finding a Consultant....

I found my sisterlock consultant on the sisterlock website. At first, I was going to start them in Columbus, Ohio. However, after researching what the beginning locking process involved, I decided to wait until I moved up to the Michigan area for law school. I looked for sisterlock consultants in the Lansing, Michigan, but there was no luck in finding a Consultant. I looked in the Detroit area and came across a few locticians. The one that really caught my eye was Paulette Brown from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. I called her from Columbus and immediately set up a consultation. I drove up to Michigan from Columbus, Ohio to have my Consultation. During my Consultation, Paulette put a few sample locks in my hair; and from that moment, I could not wait to have the whole locking session done.....
